Let the lamp go out on time

Nothing here costs money, yet habits of play are real, and this page sets out how the orangery deals with them.

If gambling is harming you tonight, the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133, night or day, and GamCare offers online chat.

Why free games still need you to be 18+

Social casino games borrow the look, sound and rhythm of real gambling. Orangery After Dark is therefore intended only for adults over the legal gambling age and is not directed at anyone under 18. Your age is confirmed on two occasions: first by the banner at the door, then by a tick when an account is opened.

Things the orangery refuses to do

  • Offer real-money gambling or advertise it.
  • Hand out prizes with any real-world value.
  • Sell coins, or include in-app purchases.
  • Steer you to gambling operators or affiliates of theirs.
  • Use countdowns or streaks to coax you back to the glass.

A caution by lamplight

Free games are easily tuned to feel kind, and this one refills your balance without charge. Games played for real money do neither. A lucky night in the orangery tells you nothing about playing with money at stake.

Warning signs after dark

  • Playing lamp round after lamp round, well beyond your plan.
  • Snapping at people after you stop.
  • Playing to shut out a feeling.
  • Sleep, work or the people close to you are getting less of you.
  • You start looking for a real-money version.

Keeping a hand on the lamp

  • Fix a stopping time before you start.
  • Spin by hand, without autoplay.
  • Step out of the glasshouse for breaks.
  • For a clean slate, clear this site’s data. To stop altogether, block the site in your device settings.

Under this glass sits a free social casino, and none of it is real-money gambling.

Orangery After Dark lets in adults aged 18 or over, and nobody younger. Every glasshouse plays on virtual coins of no monetary value, coins that can never be bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged. Nowhere in the orangery will you find a counter selling coins or a payment page; no prize of real-world value is offered; and success here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
